Teeny Kuhn

We met in the kitchen

and Teeny said, “be careful” –

closely looking out for,

Teeny mastered here and now.

Our paths paralleled mostly

we went different ways the same –

with voice and hand tremoring,

Teeny was resilient.

Teeny’s way was the high way

indeed the road not taken –

a faithful fearless friend,

Teeny was there to help.

Yes, we know what we know

She made the stitch in time –

a talented seamstress,

Teeny sewed communion.

She relished the warmed hearth

and savored the moment –

a gifted bread baker,

Teeny warmed my heart.

Like the wind, plans are fleeting

and she knew to… wait for it –

Teeny was a homemaker

and I was in the house.

I give thanks for Teeny’s presence

“Cut the crap,

and get to the mystery” –

Teeny made a difference.

In the movie "Harvey", Elwood P Dowd, played by Jimmy Stewart, explains coping with the world this way: "Years ago my mother used to say to me, she'd say, 'In this world, Elwood, you must be' - she always called me Elwood - 'In this world, Elwood, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant.' Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. You may quote me." Well, for years I was smart, oh so very smart, I too recommend pleasant - Trust the harmony
