A Pilgrim’s Way

Life’s way is a labyrinth path

On the way, I must be wary,

for there are perils to endure,

   duties to embrace.

Life’s way is open

On the way, I must be careful,

my heart needs inspiration,

   my soul wants enlightenment.

We are seekers without a grand plan,

but we are not passive passengers.

Indeed, the door might be opened for us,

but we must enter with purpose.

Some doors are closed and even locked,

and with courage, we find entry.

We, pilgrims, live in the here-now

and with patience, we accept closure.

Help me to do your will

   to be your apostle

Help me to be good, do good,

   be a power for good

Beauty has been restored

In the movie "Harvey", Elwood P Dowd, played by Jimmy Stewart, explains coping with the world this way: "Years ago my mother used to say to me, she'd say, 'In this world, Elwood, you must be' - she always called me Elwood - 'In this world, Elwood, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant.' Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. You may quote me." Well, for years I was smart, oh so very smart, I too recommend pleasant - Trust the harmony
