Faced with adversity,

rally with entreaty.

I am grateful –

I hear the “No…”

and understand the denial.

Yes, I was not heard

but heeded.

I give thanks –

I hear the “Not yet…”

and recognize the veto.

Sure, 1 was not followed

but noticed.

I am blessed –

I hear the “But…”

and apprehend the rebuff.

Indeed, I was not accepted

but engaged

I am graced –

I hear the “No way…”

and suffer the rejection.

So, I was not backed

but respected.

Despite the contention,

engage with attention.
