More More Meek and Humble

Jesus is a humble spirit

Starting with no cradle.

“The poorest waif, the beggar’s child,

can at least claim a crib,

but Jesus shared

the straw of the hillside beast.” [1]

He had a submissive attitude,

He turned the other cheek,

He allowed trespassing,

He demanded service.

He suggested we follow his lead

“… learn from me, for I am meek

and humble of heart.” [2]

a tough call to answer.

No anger or furor

No temper or ire

No bluster or blabber.

No “sputter or stutter.”[3]

“… you cannot get the best of those

who are meek and humble…

they are serene and passive

as a summer’s day…”[4]

What is humility?

It’s realizing the truth,

We may have a little talent.

God gave that to us.

Have a humble spirit

Move with grace and blessing.

In the movie "Harvey", Elwood P Dowd, played by Jimmy Stewart, explains coping with the world this way: "Years ago my mother used to say to me, she'd say, 'In this world, Elwood, you must be' - she always called me Elwood - 'In this world, Elwood, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant.' Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. You may quote me." Well, for years I was smart, oh so very smart, I too recommend pleasant - Trust the harmony
