Meek and Humble

“Treat Jesus as a real person…

Put heart into our prayers,

and have a personal feeling…”[1]

Being with Jesus is not hard,

He is our kind and gentle brother.

Just be meek and humble in prayer.

The meek and humble

call upon God with heart-felt holiness:

repentant, enlightened, and sanctified.

“Proud people are curious,

envious, impossible, overbearing,

mischief-making… and unyielding.”[2]

Humble people are satisfied,

entrusting, collaborative, compliant,

peace-making… and yielding.

To lead the way, first, follow the Way,

Imitate Jesus, “Learn of Me,

because I am meek and humble of heart.”[3]

In the movie "Harvey", Elwood P Dowd, played by Jimmy Stewart, explains coping with the world this way: "Years ago my mother used to say to me, she'd say, 'In this world, Elwood, you must be' - she always called me Elwood - 'In this world, Elwood, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant.' Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. You may quote me." Well, for years I was smart, oh so very smart, I too recommend pleasant - Trust the harmony
