Do You Love Me?

1a retelling of John 21: 15-17

When they had finished eating, Jesus asked Peter, “Simon, would you die for me as I died for you?”

Lord, I would give you anything you ask for.”

Jesus said, “Share my Way.”

A little later, Jesus asked, “Simon, would you stand in harm’s way for me?”

“Lord, you know that I totally support everything you stand for.”

Jesus said, “Take care of our friends.”

Later still, Jesus asked, “Simon, will you be my friend always?”

Peter was upset because Jesus kept challenging him. So, he said, “Lord, considering all we’ve been through together, surely you know we are best friends.”

Jesus said, “Pray together to stay together”

In the movie "Harvey", Elwood P Dowd, played by Jimmy Stewart, explains coping with the world this way: "Years ago my mother used to say to me, she'd say, 'In this world, Elwood, you must be' - she always called me Elwood - 'In this world, Elwood, you must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant.' Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant. You may quote me." Well, for years I was smart, oh so very smart, I too recommend pleasant - Trust the harmony
