The Office

The forest is for the trees.
Deep waters create the seas.

Sales sallies, “Listen to me.”
The forest starts with a tree.
Make a wave to have a sea.
Numbers have no meaning –
spun importance whirling

Bean counters beg, “Talk to me.”
The trees have too many leaves.
The waves have too little heaves.
Numbers are the meaning –
bland invectives hurling

Production pleads, “Just watch me.”
The wind whispers through the wood.
The waves caress the shore good.
Numbers have great meaning –
well-intentioned twirling

Service solicits, “Show me.”
Amazed by branches broken,
by a tsunami soaken.
Numbers lose all meaning –
missed achievements curling

The boss beckons, “Believe me.”
Listen to the leaf falling.
Smell the ocean wave tumbling.
This is numbers meaning –
non-destructive swirling

The forest is for the trees.
Deep waters create the seas.
